After many months of drying, this wavey elm burl bowl is ready to go... Turned in December 2022 while it was still green, it has sat in my storage slowly drying to give it the wavey edges. Though, probably not the best for any that struggle with tryp

As the rut has begun, I've been playing with red deer antler today. I've not turned it before, and it was fun!

First time using reclaimed Douglas Fir (courtesy of @lhart2023 and @phillxiii).

A lovely wood to turn! Even if one of the cracks did separate and fly away at speed (hence the flat side)...

Tried to keep as much of the character as possible on the

Fun day in the office yesterday. One elm burl dish with some really pretty figure inside, and a small cherry offcut turned into an offerings pot.

After several months off due to shoulder surgery, I'm back in the workshop... and thought I'd give pen turning a go. The kit from Axminster is pretty decent! I still need to get closer to the bushes while turning, but I can see this being quite a fun

Sometimes a simple shape is all you need.

Elm burl, 18x6cm. Finished with EEE-Ultrashine and Sh*thot Waxstik.

I have a real love for birch... and this lump with all those branches made an awesome little 17cm goblet. #woodturning #naturalwood #madeinscotland

Spalted elm, 15cm wide rim bowl. Finished with tung oil. #woodturning #naturalwood #madeinscotland

Elm burl, 24cm wide dish. Finished with hard wax oil.
